I’ve been quiet for awhile, and there’s a reason – Amy Tanathorn has been getting a website makeover and now it’s ready to show off!
My site has been redone completely to make it possible to not only view my original paintings, but to BUY them as well. Yes, any one of these works you may have seen on Facebook can actually be yours! I did not do it alone, though. I had discovered this fantastic artist marketing and resource website called The Abundant Artist, and Cory Hoff offers a “done for you artist website” that he puts together for you and installs a WordPress theme suitable for artists. He did a great job, don’t you think?
Take a look at Collect Art for my shop. I have it divided into themes and furthermore, I have the paintings tagged, so for example, if you want to see all the paintings where I use origami papers, click on the origami tag on that product page.
For paintings that are already in private collections, please see my Portfolio. If you click on the pictures, they will get bigger, but to see more information about the painting and how they look in a client’s room, click on the title, right beneath the photo.
These pieces may be unavailable, but if you like a certain one and would like me to make a piece similar to one you see, just contact me and I’m happy to oblige.
to blog or not to blog?
One of the things I had to take into consideration during the switch was the optional blog migration onto my new artist website. The topics I wrote about were not necessarily art-centered. Do readers who previously came to my site want to read about my art process only? Would other topics be of interest?
Maybe yes, maybe no, but after some thought, I decided to keep my old posts and continue writing about the topics that concern and interest me, in addition to writing about my paintings and my creative process. I don’t know about you, but I like to read about an artist’s life, what makes that person tick. I’m also just plain curious and nosy, and naturally find people interesting, so learning more about a person who has piqued my interest is always fun.
I’m trying out something new and am offering a bi-weekly newsletter that will summarize my painting updates and any noteworthy blog posts you might find interesting.
Here’s a huge reason to join my mailing list: I will offer a nice big discount on my paintings to my email subscribers for a limited time before I offer them for sale to the general public. Future plans in the works include offering prints, cards, or other gifts such as canvas tote bags or mugs with an Amy Tanathorn painting emblazoned upon them.
